Pay No Mind

Maybe someday when you're with me I'll be dancing.
I'll stop pretending that the TV is romantic.
Maybe someday when you're with me you'll be mesmerized,
But I don't think you mind.

Maybe someday when you're with me I'll be sober.
We'll drink coffee in the morning not hungover.
Maybe someday when you're with me I'll be fine to drive,
But I don't think you mind.
No, I don't think you mind.
Maybe 'cause you're not mine.

Maybe someday when you're with me I'll be famous.
The idea of loving me won't be outrageous.
Maybe someday when you're with me our names will shine,
But I don't think you mind.
No, I don't think you mind.
Maybe 'cause you're not mine.

Marionettes

Don't stop your crying.
I love the sound you make
When the tears upon your face are close to drying,
And that frigid heart of stone starts to break.

All the words you tried to say won't emit
As they fall down all the way to the pith
Of a body that once moved in compliance
To the strings I pulled it with.

Don't stop your lying.
I love the face you make
When you raise your upper lip while denying
That as you speak your voice starts to shake.

All the words you tried to say won't emit
As they fall down all the way to the pith
Of a body that once moved in compliance
To the strings I pulled it with.

I'll play you.
I'll play you for a fool.
I'll play you for a fool, and you'll buy it.
Then I'll cut all the strings I pulled you with.

Young Sparrow

Young sparrow flies above the fervid skies
Hoping that her wing don't catch flame.
Young sparrow tries, tries to recognize
That heat from the sun just ain't the same
As the sparrow down on her plain.
She don't know how warm she could have been
Next to him.

The arrow flies up into the skies,
But someone from below had taken aim.
Young sparrow dies, dies within the skies
Before she ever felt the ground again
Or the warmth of that sparrow on the plain.
She don't know how warm she could have been
Next to him.

Young sparrow on the plain.
She don't know how warm she could have been.

Two Eyes

I am a monster. I ruin things on numerous accounts for innumerable people. I effortlessly move on with no intention to persist, yet I never desist. I am a monster, and I will never rest until you are distressed, deserted in a diverted mess.

Falling Deeper

This is rapture at its best.
I was captured and arrested
By the very arms that I was running from.
This is weight upon my chest
And it continues to press
Down on my beatin' heart and barren, beaten lungs.

Somehow I find it grand
That the cuffs around my wrists feel like hands.
I can hardly stand
'Cause I'm falling deeper in.
Yeah, I'm falling deeper in.

She looks like heaven from above.
It feels like I never felt love until now.

Every day is moving slower
Than the last. I swear my calendar
Is just a giant checker board to them.
I bet she's worth the three to four,
But is it love I'm waiting for?
Captivation is the reason I'm condemned.

Somehow I find it grand
That the cuffs around my wrists feel like hands.
I can hardly stand
'Cause I'm falling deeper in.
Yeah, I'm falling deeper in.

She looks like heaven from above.
It feels like I never felt love until now.

Somehow I find it hard
To believe that bliss can leave a person scarred.
Somewhere beyond these bars
Is a girl I'd call a keeper.
That's why I'm falling deeper.

She looks like heaven from above.
It feels like I never felt love until now.

A Comedy

The flowers on our bedsheets are withering.
With one more wash they'll be lost for good.
I'm shaking out the brush while dithering
In fear, for the colors aren't so clear where they stood.
Maybe you should have thrown down the extra cash.

Or maybe I'm a prick. Maybe I'm tired,
Tired of lying to the only one who knew
All the truths I pushed aside.

The dishes in the sink are drying on their own,
But no one ever said that they were clean.
Are we past the point of trying? Will we just end up buying
A brand new dining set for a different home?
Maybe you should have drowned the porcelain.

Or maybe I'm a prick. Maybe I'm tired,
Tired of lying to the only one who knew
All the truths I pushed aside.

On the counter top you found my ring.
I didn't have pockets on my jeans.
I swear my lungs were never built to sing,
But I'll try once more tonight
To twist wrong into right.

Yeah, maybe I'm a prick. Maybe I'm tired,
Tired of lying to the only one who knew
All the truths I pushed aside.
