In the Courtyard

I'm pulling out the maps that we drew.
The folds and wrinkled patterns have construed
Countless destinations,
But every route leads me back to you.

But it's rain in the courtyard that keeps showing
That all of the trees have stopped growing.
Nature lost her touch. I think it rained too much.
So what's the use in finding you?

I'm planting seeds beneath hidden roots
In hopes of branching out the buried truth.
Yesterday it rained, but today it's not the same.
It's a drought, and I doubt it will subdue.

But it's rain in the courtyard that keeps showing
That all of the trees have stopped growing.
Nature lost her touch. It didn't rain enough.
So what's the use in finding you?

If together we were one, then one of us is none.
I once said if you left I'd follow you.
If the sky would open up, then I'd pull down the sun.
I once said if you left I'd follow you,
But all the plans I make don't follow through.
