The Greatest Piece of Fiction (That I Have Ever Read)

Time stands still for a moment short.
I remember what was said on that September night.
Don't go down, for the spate won't fall
Till September turns to blistering red October skies.

The colony is tapering out like a fire,
But soon it will desist.
In time it will desist.
The movement of malformed machines

Take back the mantle of steel.

Once a cop, now a sheep.

Once on top, now beneath
The rubble of the colony.
Once a God - a machine -

Now a cot made for sleep
Like a dynasty collapsing to ruins.

The sun chases your smile,
But your mouth is always closed.
The abyss which you created

Moves further past your nose.
I will build ladders to towers to unknown dimensions

If only to see you nod,
But you're just a pawn used to aspire,
And you're still as fake as God.

You're just a pawn used to aspire,
And you're still fake as God.
